JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, the Manager, MOC will be responsible for overall management of the Maintenance Operation Control Center, to ensure that all maintenance activities are accomplished efficiently as per company procedures and industry best standards. The incumbent will ensure that operations are continuously supported within a 24/7 work environment.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain overall management and oversight of Maintenance Control and Defect Control functions;
  • Oversees Maintenance Operation Control (MOC) activities to ensure technical delays, out of service events, repetitive defects, deferred maintenance, scheduled maintenance and unscheduled defects are completed or rectified in a timely manner.
  • Oversees and supervise employees directing daily activities.
  • Plan/ allocate work and supervise the activities of Maintenance controller and ensure that technical support and troubleshooting guidance are provided effectively to all maintenance teams.
  • Oversees adequate equipment's and facilities availability for smooth operations of MOC.
  • Ensure that all work performed by Skyservice Maintenance and contracted maintenance service providers is in compliance with our company policies, safety standards and procedures.
  • Manage A/C loadable software updates and service providers. Ensure that respective aircraft maintenance tracking program and Flight Operations System (FOS) interface are accurate and updated.
  • Communicate all AOGs and delay events through Operational Control Centre (OCC) and coordinate with Maintenance controller to avoid flight schedule disruption and maximize on time dispatch reliability.
  • Review and analyze delays, disruptions, AOGs etc. and carry out root cause analysis to identify suggestions/ solutions for improvement.
  • Continuous monitoring of maintenance standards, to achieve or exceed on time performance & deferred defect targets.
  • Liaise with relevant internal and external departments to provide all information required to ensure consistent high degree of service excellence.
  • Communicate with Skyservice line production coordination with regards to daily scheduled and unscheduled tasks planned, maintain a close loop coordination at all times.
  • Forecast long-term maintenance planning, including authority Airworthiness Directive, OEM Service bulletins, with fleet planning specialist, in order to maximize aircraft downtime and availability.
  • Highlight and report any safety issues/ discrepancies to the Director of Maintenance, which could lead to significant operational disruptions. Ensure all duties are completed with the highest level of safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Degree or diploma in management and education in aviation are considered assets.
  • Must hold a valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (M2 or E) for minimum 10 years.
  • Must possess a minimum of 3-5 years of management/ supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of tracking system is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Flight Operations System (FOS) is an asset.
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills (operational and tactical).
  • Ability to plan and prioritize sequential completion of tasks and processes for effective time management and revenue loss.
  • Sound Aeronautical background with detailed knowledge of Maintenance Control structure applied to Business Aviation.
  • Ability to delegate work, set clear directions and manage workflow efficiently.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring and coaching skills coupled with the ability to foster teamwork.
  • Strong communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast pace 24/7 operation environment.
