The Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Building Operator is responsible for providing operational services, assisting with managing day-to-day operations, being available for general inquires to tenants and ensuring a high level of service and support is always provided to tenants.
In This Role, You Will:
- Liaise with all tenant contacts on a regular basis to establish and maintain a healthy working relationship.
- Act as a liaison between the head office/property management team and the tenants.
- Directly responsible for the building’s operation of all building facilities.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all building systems (HVAC, Fire, Life and Safety, Security, Grounds-keeping etc.).
- Assist the Operations Manager in the collection and preparation for quotations for contractor services.
- Attend to tenant enquiries and/or building maintenance requests and work orders.
- Carry out minor maintenance requirements/repairs on a scheduled or periodic basis including but not limited to filter replacement, litter picking, painting, and snow removal.
- Emergency on call duty for after-hours building issues.
- Operate Building Life and Safety equipment.
- Manage service contractor relationship – mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, cleaning, security, etc. – to ensure that the building is operating at optimal levels in terms of tenant satisfaction and profitability; ensure that existing maintenance or service contracts are enforced and that all outsourced contractors and sub-contractors are supervised.
- Any other job-related duties and projects that may be assigned.
What You Bring:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a related environment.
- Working knowledge of heating, refrigeration, plumbing, would be an asset.
- Valid Driver’s License is required.
- Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment, or independently with minimal supervision.
- Enthusiastic, pro-active, and service driven.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000
