Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Waitstaff team member at Portugalos Restaurant, located in Ottawa, ON. The role involves greeting guests, presenting menus, taking orders, and serving food and beverages in a timely, courteous manner. Daily responsibilities include setting and clearing tables, answering questions about menu items, and ensuring guests have a positive dining experience. The team member will handle payments, maintain a clean and organized work area, and coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure accurate and efficient service. The role also includes following food safety and hygiene standards and supporting colleagues during busy service periods. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Customer Service skills, with a focus on hospitality and guest satisfaction. Candidates should possess Food & Beverage and Food Service skills, including basic knowledge of restaurant service standards. Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills for interacting with guests and team members. Candidates should possess basic Cooking or food handling awareness sufficient to describe menu items and support simple food prep as needed. Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is an asset. Ability to stand for extended periods, carry trays, and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Basic math skills for handling payments; proficiency in English or French, with bilingual ability considered an advantage.
