Location: Edmonton AB Hours: 5:30 AM until deliveries are completed Salary: $35 - $37/hr. + 7% Bonus

TRAINING PERIOD UP TO SIX MONTHS FROM HIRE DATE
Job Summary: The primary objective of the Bulk Driver is to safely and efficiently transport and unload bulk goods between company and the client.

Key Accountabilities: Liaise with dispatcher and organize daily packaged goods & bulk shipments using the fleet of trucks. Perform all required bulk, package and warehouse duties including lift truck operations. Long distance and overnight driving during multiple day deliveries may be required as may overtime due to run schedule, weather, or work volume. Receive and follow direction from management. Attend Safety and Compliance Seminars and constantly strive to maintain a safe working environment.
Key Competencies: Make bulk deliveries at customer sites. Assist the warehouse operator with loading and unloading the truck. Transport motor oil in both bulk and packaged formats. Delivery Provinces Include (routes may last 1 to 2 days.): Most of Alberta – Towns between Edmonton and Peace River, Lethbridge – Cold Lake. Part of BC – Edmonton to Fort St. John and towns between. Most of Saskatchewan Towns between Edmonton and Swift Current, Choice land. Saskatoon Perform daily truck inspections. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Operate either a hybrid truck or a semi-trailer, depending on the delivery run. Start work at 5:30 a.m. and continue until all deliveries are completed. Complete approximately eight deliveries per day on average. Participate in overnight runs, with trips lasting up to three days in duration. Must be self-motivated, conscientious, and able to work well with others Ability to manage workloads in a busy work environment and be flexible to change (flow to the work) Must be in good physical condition to adequately manage physical aspects of tasks Ability to work independently and be self-driven without supervision Takes responsibility to “own the job” and demonstrates integrity in all aspects of the work Team player who demonstrates respect for others and is performance driven to achieve departmental goals and objectives Exceptional communication skills with a focus on customer service Superior analytical and rationalization skills Familiarity and comprehension of all work instructions and standard operating procedures Ability to work overtime on a daily basis or as may be required due to run schedule, weather, or work volume.
Education / Experience: AZ or Class 1 License and a clear Driver abstract Air Brakes certification required Relevant driving experience required. Experience in or ability to deliver bulk oil. Lift truck experience with valid lift truck training or ability to obtain Good reading comprehension, writing and mathematical skills Minimum 5 - 10 years of professional driving experience. Driving in the mountains is preferred. Must be able to travel up to 2 days across the province. Experience driving semi-trailer trucks is ideal. Reliability, punctuality, and strong attention to detail. Strong communication skills (Intermediate English). Ability to work well in a team and demonstrate strong communication skills. Required to successfully pass an aptitude test to demonstrate the required competency level and demonstrate continuing competency in the position Ability to maintain/acquire proficiency in relevant regulatory training and certifications as required by position such as, but not limited to, WHMIS, Canadian Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Must have, or be able to acquire, the skills required to successfully demonstrate basic PC skills (MS Suite and Axapta) and proficiency in internet navigation Comprehensive geographical knowledge of the province, especially main highways and major cities currently serviced by the fleet.
Working Conditions: All required PPE must be worn while performing tasks Out of City travel and overnight stays during multiple day deliveries is a requirement Hours of work may vary according to operational needs such as vacations, absences, and fluctuating workloads
