The Opportunity North Valley Credit Union is seeking a full-time Financial Advisor to join our team in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. As a Financial Advisor, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with a portfolio of members by understanding their financial goals and recommending products and services that help them achieve those goals. You will provide advice across day-to-day banking, investments, and consumer lending while identifying opportunities to deepen member relationships through proactive financial conversations. What You’ll DoMember Relationships & Financial Advice · Build lasting relationships with members by understanding their financial goals and providing personalized advice. · Conduct meaningful financial conversations and identify opportunities to improve members’ financial well-being. · Assist members with everyday banking needs while introducing products and services that support both current and future goals. · Prepare introductory financial plans and recommend practical financial solutions. · Promote financial literacy through education and ongoing member support. · Conduct proactive follow-up calls and outreach to existing and prospective members. Lending & Credit · Analyze, underwrite and approve consumer lending applications within established lending authorities. · Provide advice on: o Personal loans o Lines of credit o Credit cards o Residential mortgages o Vehicle and recreational loans · Identify opportunities for refinancing, debt consolidation and improved cash flow. · Refer commercial and agriculture lending opportunities to the appropriate lending specialist. Deposit & Investment Services · Open and maintain member accounts. · Recommend deposit products including savings, term deposits and registered products. · Assist members with RRSPs, TFSAs, RESPs and other registered plans within the scope of the position. · Refer members requiring comprehensive investment planning or wealth management services to the appropriate team member. Member Experience · Deliver exceptional member service through every interaction. · Follow through on commitments and ensure members receive timely communication. · Work collaboratively with lending, operations and member service staff to provide seamless service. · Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and member experience. Compliance & Risk Management · Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate and compliant with regulatory and internal policy requirements. · Maintain strong knowledge of lending policies, FINTRAC requirements and applicable legislation. · Balance member service with prudent risk management. · Protect member information through adherence to privacy and security policies. Qualifications · Minimum three years of experience in a financial institution or advisory role. · Experience in consumer lending and credit adjudication. · Knowledge of deposit and registered investment products. · Strong understanding of personal financial management. · Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. · Ability to identify opportunities while maintaining a member-first approach. · Completion of, or willingness to pursue, industry designations such as Personal Financial Services Advice (PFSA), Personal Financial Planner (PFP), CFP, or related financial services education would be considered an asset.
