Reporting to the Laundry Manager, this individual will be responsible for leading a shift while supporting laundry operations and staff daily.
What you will be doing as a Laundry Supervisor: Operating washing machines and dryers efficiently to launder hotel linens, towels, and uniforms; Sorting, washing, drying, folding, and storing clean laundry items according to established procedures; Inspecting laundry for stains or damage and taking appropriate action to address any issues; Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, ensuring equipment is in good working condition; Assist in managing day-to-day operations, ensuring quality, standards and meeting the expectations of the customers daily; Manage laundry procedures and required flow of linen; Ensure quality controls are in place for all linen processes; Understand daily targets and effectively communicate these to the team; Support the laundry manager with ensuring accurate staffing levels based on workload; Communicating the importance of safety procedures, detailing procedure codes, ensuring employee understanding of safety codes, monitoring processes and procedures related to safety; Comprehend budgets and payroll progress reports as needed to assist in the financial management of department; Coach and mentor employees to reach their full potential; Ensures consistent workflow to minimize peaks and valleys in production; Bring issues to the attention of the department manager and Human Resources as necessary; Assist in ordering and managing necessary supplies. Ensuring workers have supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms necessary to do their jobs; Such other similar or related duties may be required from time to time.
The person we are looking for has: Experience working in a fast-paced laundry department; Ability to work different shifts; Previous experience managing employees is considered an asset; Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to multi-task; Ability to evaluate processes to ensure efficiency; Effective leadership skills with the ability to motivate employees; Exemplary understanding of and commitment to confidentiality.
