The Opportunity

Job classification: A5019 - Customer Service Representative

Salary range: $55,057.60 - $74,193.60. Placement within the range is typically based upon a review of skills, experience, and internal equity.

Hours per week: 40

Paid leave: 3 weeks vacation per year

Reporting to the Supervisor, International Admissions and Enrolment, the incumbent provides support and carries out strategic directions established by the Associate Registrar, International, and the Associate Vice President, International. The International Centre (IC) Admissions Officer is an all‑in‑one position designed to support and enable the IC in administering core international admissions functions.

In conjunction with the Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for completing IC enrollment management tasks such as issuing offers, processing deferrals, and conducting international document assessments. In alignment with IC business priorities and goals, this role has access to admissions systems and the authority to make admission, cancellation, and deferral decisions.

The International Admissions Officer coordinates individual responsibilities and priorities with overall departmental goals while adhering to SAIT policies and procedures. The incumbent works closely with the Supervisor and IC Leadership to support international student enrollment growth. The role requires the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

How You'll Contribute

International Admissions

Review applications and assign decisions or updates to statuses

Complete evaluations of international documents for admission requirements

Review application dashboards in VAS system daily

Provide exceptional customer service, by responding to inquiries from applicants regarding admission processes/statuses and updates, using VAS and Freshdesk platforms

Manage the applicant from point of application through to confirmation

Work in collaboration with the International Enrolment Specialist to ensure international admission decisions for co-existent applications cycles are handled effectively

Work diligently to ensure international targets are met within specific time frames

Confirm that all International tuition deposit fees are paid by deadlines

Updating, assigning and distribution of offer and confirmation letters through admissions systems

Assist with deferrals and associated activities pertaining to the admissions cycle

Run daily status reports for international applicants and perform updates to statuses.

Assist with processing international cancellations and related refunds

Maintain open lines of communication within the team and with other support services and the academic schools

Promote continuous quality improvement within the team, department and throughout the SAIT community

Project Coordination of International Admissions and Enrollment Management Initiatives

In collaboration with the Supervisor, International Admissions and Enrolment, establish application, enrollment management priorities and targets to support departmental and institutional priorities

Ensure IC competitiveness vis-a-vis competitors by driving IC operational efficiencies (admissions, waitlists etc.) across the institute;

Participates in the communication strategies and tactics related to the admission cycle

Support the delivery of customer-centric service to applicants

Provides support to prioritize applications based on external data inputs (government processing times, local country conditions, geo-politics etc.)

Enrollment Management Reporting

Support accurate and efficient processing of international applications based on established service standards and timelines

Answers email inquiries from staff, faculty and students

Leadership may assign duties, responsibilities and projects as required

What You Bring

Education & Experience

Post‑secondary diploma or degree, preferably in International Relations, International Communications, International Business, or a related field.

Minimum of 2–3 years of directly related experience in international education and international admissions within a post‑secondary setting.

Experience evaluating educational documents is an asset.

Experience with project management is an asset.

Experience living, working, or studying abroad is an asset.

Experience working in International Education or an OTR setting in a college or university is preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) international student program.

Strong understanding of the Canadian immigration system.

Effective communication, problem‑solving, intercultural competence, project and time management, adaptability, empathy, relationship‑building, and a focus on data analysis and process improvement.

Ability to foster successful relationships with leadership, faculty, and staff.

Knowledge and understanding of applied education.

Superior interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Experience with student information systems (Banner, VAS) is preferred.

A second language is an asset.

Subject Matter Expertise

Demonstrated administrative ability, including strategic planning and policy/process implementation.

Ability to foster collaboration and trust, and to work collegially; ability to inspire others to high performance.

Experience developing a high‑level student communication plan and seeing it through to completion.
