Admitting Clerk - Pre-admission Clinic Holland Centre - Regular Full-time - 2026-18020 (2026-18020)
About the role
Summary Of Duties
Responsible for providing complete and accurate documentation for every in/out patient, as well as informing newly admitted patients of regulations and procedures; and allocating beds for incoming patients. Responsible for creating Pre-Admission accounts, Same Day Surgery accounts and Recurring accounts as well as processing all patient admissions in patient care system. Confirming arrival and surgery times for In-patients and answering inquiries by telephone. Monitoring Patient flow through different departments for pre-testing clinics. Processing of Midnight census and departmental filing duties. Processing and compiling charts for patient admissions. Performs duties as required for the OR Booking Desk.
Qualifications/Skills
Grade 12 education; Post-secondary business/secretarial courses; Computer/typing skills including Windows and MS Word are required; Minimum 40 w.p.m. typing speed with maximum 5% error rate Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy clinic reception area, preferably in a hospital/health care environment; Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize independently; Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment with flexibility and diplomacy while providing excellent customer service; People person with strong verbal & written communication skills and customer focused with attention to details; Good inter-personal skills and ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals; Excellent organizational skills; Previous admitting/OR Booking schedule experience is a definite asset.
