MHSW Depot Technician, Processing Facilities
About the role
The General Labourer is responsible for the handling, consolidating and processing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials received by the Processing Facilities. The General Labourer must display a focus on safety and efficiency in a team environment while performing moderately labour intensive and repetitious tasks. This position's working schedule is from Thursday - Monday from 8:15 am - 4:45 pm and Sunday 8:15am-3:45pm at our Markham MHSW Depot. Key Responsibilities: Provide excellent customer service to the residents of York Region that visit the depot Have good communication skills to deal with York Regional employees, and the public Have read and understand all training documents on-site Receive MHSW from residents Identify, sort, and pack MHSW into the appropriate containers Maintain clean grounds and facility Follow Supervisor’s instructions Wear all of the required PPE at all times Work in a safe manner at all times Maintain and report any equipment that needs repair Comply with all rules and regulations to do with operating the depot Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: Ability to perform moderately labour intensive and repetitious tasks Physically fit with the ability to lift +50lbs and stand on cement for extended periods of time Excellent communication skills Planning and organizational skills Ability to analyze and solve problems Able to work independently and in a team environment #GFLTalent We thank you for your interest.
