Department: Winnipeg Transit
Designated Work Location: Various locations including, but not limited to, 414 Osborne, Millennium Library, City Hall and Winnipeg Square.
Position Type: 2 full time temporary to December 31, 2026, potential for extension.
Hours of Work: Varied, mainly days, Monday to Friday however, candidates must be available for days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Salary: $1,249.30 to $1,770.23 biweekly as per the CUPE Clerk A classification

Job Profile
Under the direction of the Team Lead and Customer Services Supervisor, as the Customer Service Clerk A you would be responsible for Transit products which include selling transit smart cards, loading various transit fare products on the card and accountable for the inventory and cash allocated to you. You would also provide transit information to the public and must have a good knowledge of routes, Transit Plus, and Transit operations policies/procedures and passenger self help technology such as Navigo, BusTxt, etc.
As The Customer Service Centre Clerk A You Would
Respond to public inquiries both in person and over the telephone and direct telephone calls as required. Sell Transit products (bus tickets, passes, smaret cards, merchandise, etc) and accept WINNPass payments, distribute and input WINNPass application forms. Take pictures as required and create photo ID cards for Transit concession products (bus passes, smart cards, etc) and student identification. Replenish printed materials and assist walk in customers with transit trip planning as required and resond to any inquiries. Greet and assist Winnipeg Transit customers.
Your Education And Qualifications Include
HIgh school diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience Minimum two years of office related experience, preferably with prior experience in a customer service setting Demonstrated proficiency with basic word processings applications (Word), spreadsheets (Excel) and email (Outlook) Demonstrated ability to keyboard 40 wpm Ability to pay attention to detail and maintain accuracy Previous experience in working with and balancing cash, debit and credit cards and manage product inventory. Point of sale experience would be an asset. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization and maintain the appropriate level of professionalism with the general public in accordance with the Respectful Workplace Standard. Ability to maintain composure when working under pressure and handling stressful situations Ability to work with minimum direct supervision and to initiate responsible action. Effective verbal communication skills with the ability to follow instructions and express ideas clearly and concisely. Effective written communication skills with the ability to follow instructions and express ideas clearly and concisely. Basic knowledge of Winnipeg Transit's operational system (i.e. routes and fares) or ability to attain same within a reasonable amount of time. Important: Applicants who have been educated outside of Canada must have education which is comparable to the minimum qualification in Canada. Conditions Of Employment
The successful applicant must maintain legal eligibility to work in Canada. If the successful applicant possesses a work permit, it is their responsibility to ensure the permit remains valid.
