Technical Support Representative (Tier 1)

Location: In-office (Barrie, Ontario) Type: Full-time Reports to: Operations Manager Salary: $37,500-40,000 annually
Our client is seeking a Tier 1 Technical Support Representative to join their growing support team. This is a customer-facing role that plays a key part in ensuring client satisfaction and the reliability of critical services. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for technical issues and will work closely with internal teams to ensure timely resolution and exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities: Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and ticketing system Troubleshoot Tier 1 issues related to desktop environments, company applications, and services Guide users through basic troubleshooting steps and service configurations Escalate unresolved or complex issues to senior technical staff or development teams Accurately document issues, resolutions, and customer feedback Provide professional on-site support for local clients as required Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company tools, applications, and services Participate in an on-call rotation for high-priority support when needed
Requirements: Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn quickly Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (French is an asset) Familiarity with desktop operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux Comfortable communicating with customers via phone, video, and in person Well-organized and able to manage time effectively Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
Preferred Experience: Exposure to SIP/VoIP technologies Working knowledge of Linux command line Basic MySQL familiarity Understanding of PCI compliance standards
