The Werklund School of Education is currently seeking a Full-time Temporary Relief Manager,Centre for Wellbeing for approximately 15 months.
The Werklund School of Education has more than 2500 students currently enrolled in BEd, MA, MEd, MC, PhD and EdD degree programs supported by more than 160 academic and support staff. There are more than 27,000 alumni of the Werklund School of Education who can be found in 148 countries around the world. Research informs all of our programs. In exploring how we learn and how to create conditions that enable learning, the work of our students and researchers provides a better understanding of the broad range of educational issues within our communities.
The Werklund School of Education is committed to strengthening support and advancing the Universities strategic directives, through expanding educational research, knowledge, and impact. To further these goals, Werklund School of Education has established a Centre for Wellbeing in Education. The Centre is a multi-disciplinary, dynamic unit consisting of Research, Professional Learning and Outreach, and Clinical Services. The Clinical services branch offers an on-campus psychology clinic. The clinic currently offers practicum placement opportunities for students from masters and doctoral programs in School and Applied Child Psychology and Counseling Psychology.
The Centre is seeking an Administrative Manager whose role would be responsible for managing and coordinating the administrative staff of the Centre – Clinical Services to ensure that all areas have adequate administrative support to carry out their strategic objectives. In addition, the Administrative Manager will be responsible for maintaining the approved budgets for the Centres Clinical Services. The Administrative Manager will report to the Director of the Centre for Wellbeing in Education.
This position requires strong collaboration, and partnership building skills. High volume and a variety of work demands, much of which are driven by internally and externally imposed deadlines and requirements, can be expected. The nature of the work often includes multiple simultaneous deadlines and strong decision-making skills. It is necessary to deal with complex issues and, in some cases, conflicts that require direct involvement and resolution. Moderate to high stress and pressure throughout the year, particularly during peak periods, may be encountered. The impact of error is high as the administrative decisions made will impact the Werklund School of Education and the University of Calgary. The work hours are 8:30-4:30, Monday to Friday. Flexibility in the work schedule, which will include evening and weekend hours, is required to meet the multiple demands of the position.
