The Coordinator, Revenue Services participates in the strategic and operational planning and development of policies and procedures for accounting services throughout BCCSS, and leads and/or participates in the implementation.

The Coordinator, Revenue Services is responsible for ensuring that all Revenue Services systems and processes, including internal controls, comply with legislated requirements and Health Authorities policies. Functions overseen by this position include reviewing internal processes to identify risk and areas of improvement, supervising and coordinating the activities of the applicable Revenue Services team, and providing information in response to requests for information from stakeholders.


What you'll do

  • Participates in the strategic and operational planning and development of policies and procedures for accounting services throughout PHSA, and leads and/or participates in the implementation.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all Revenue Services systems and processes, including internal controls, comply with legislated requirements and Health Authorities policies. Functions overseen by this position include reviewing internal processes to identify risk and areas of improvement, supervising and coordinating the activities of the applicable Revenue Services team, and providing information in response to requests for information from stakeholders.
  • Ensuring Revenue Services systems and processes, including internal controls, comply with legislated requirements and Health Authorities policies by working with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Reviews internal processes to identify risks and areas of improvements, by analyzing current process and researching industry best practices. Makes recommendations to minimize risk and/or improve efficiencies, communicates with affected stakeholders, and implements the change. Provides applicable change management guidance and leadership to affected staff and implements controls to monitor the outcome of changes.
  • Develops project plan including timelines, resource requirements, cost/benefit analysis, governance structure, reporting, change management, communication and post implementation support, through collaboration with various stakeholders. Monitors project progress by reviewing progress reports and results and outputs, to prevent uncontrolled changes or continuous growth in a project's scope and ensure negotiated milestones are met.
  • Leads and/or participates as department liaison on business and system initiatives, and collaborates on the implementation of initiatives or enhancements and resolution of business and system issues.
  • Responds to request for information from stakeholders, clients, and senior managers by conducting research and analysis to provide information for performance measurement. Prepares and distributes analytical findings to applicable stakeholders in various formats.
  • Selects, trains, and evaluates staff. Supervises and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the team by determining priorities and coordinating and balancing workloads, to prevent backlog and ensure timely delivery of services to clients. Ensures that initiatives are carried out in accordance with the goals, policies and vision of PHSA Revenue Services by developing processes and methods that allow the transformation and standardization of business functions.
  • Exhibits appropriate judgement when dealing with issues or questions in a complex environment. Elevates issues or questions when not familiar or unsure of overall effect of the decision.

What you bring

Qualifications

  • A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a recognized professional accounting designation (Chartered Accountant, Certified General Accountant or Certified Management Accountant) and a minimum of five (5) year's recent related experience in a large organization including extensive experience with complex computer systems.
  • Solid understanding of key accounts receivable processing, financial systems and reporting. Demonstrated experience in delivering outstanding customer service and experience with complex computer systems. Demonstrated experience supervising and coordinating activities of support teams.

  • As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

Job Type: Regular, Full-Time

Salary Range: $72,445 - $104,139 /year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate's relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
