About Our Opportunity


Tourism Nova Scotia is seeking two (2) Vehicle Enumerator (one (1) permanent year-round position and one (1) casual position) who will be counting vehicles crossing into Nova Scotia at the New Brunswick border near Amherst. The enumerator identifies and records vehicle types and license plate origins

Primary Accountabilities

Vehicles crossing the border are travelling at high speeds and require quick and accurate identification. Successful candidates may be assessed on their ability to identify vehicles throughout their employment.

Data is captured using tally counters and recorded using paper and Excel software. Tally data is uploaded online at the end of each shift.

Qualifications and Experience

As the successful candidate, you will possess a high school diploma. An acceptable combination of education/training and experience will be considered.

The successful candidate must have excellent eyesight and the ability to distinguish colours and graphics at a distance, as well as good manual dexterity. Due to the high visual demands of the job, the applicant may be required to pass a vision test.

Applicants must also have the proven ability to operate a computer, including working with MS Excel and Outlook, as well as other office equipment.

Applicants must have basic math and writing skills.

We will assess the above qualifications using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Equivalency

Applicants relying on education and experience equivalencies must demonstrate such equivalencies in their application.

Working Conditions


Applicants must be willing to work shifts lasting five to six hours duration, between the hours of 6am to 10pm on weekdays, weekends and holidays during the seasonal period of employment. Shift schedules change from month to month. The shifts typically require working alone, observing highway traffic through the window of an indoor workspace.

Pay Grade: CL 05 - CL 09

Salary Range: $1,274.56 - $1,501.11 Bi-Weekly
