What will you be doing!

  • Managing, monitoring, auditing, providing guidance, coaching and full processing of all physical structure changes across CNL (CRL, DP, PH, PG, G1, NPD, WL).
  • Providing formal training to CNL staff and external contractors on Level 2 (ENG-1002), Level 3 (ENG-1006) and informal training on levels 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
  • Liaising, supporting and providing advice, specific to the ECC requirements at the requisite stage, to CNL users throughout project lifecycle: assessment, requirements, engineering, construction, commissioning, phasing, execution plans, and configuration management. Stakeholders include: procurement, contract admin, supply chain, contractors, Engineering, Designers, Operations/Facility management, Trades, Zones/Maintenance, Manufacturing, QA, HSSE Compliance Programs , R&D, Decommissioning and all Design Authority Units.
  • Managing and dictating applicable workflows to ensure that established ECC processes, practices, policies and procedures are adhered to. Acting independently and under guidance of Coordinator, to analyze and resolve issues with stakeholder base as per above.
  • Activating and verifying ECC and project related requirements for all jobs. Understanding all specific project stage requirements and actively seeks and captures evidence to demonstrate requirements have been met. This includes demonstration of approved/accepted design deliverables (drawings, technical documentation, demonstration of all compliance requirements, construction packages, test/commissioning plans and results, and final as built state documentation (as built/record drawings, operational documentation, MEL, PM initiation, as examples).
  • Initiating and executing the immediate release of all drawing and Engineering documentation upon audit of compliance with Change Control, Engineering, Compliance Program requirements and Facility approval.
  • Regular monitoring of construction and field execution; post construction activities and Avantis status. Providing immediate field /drawing deviation support, coaching and resolution strategies to field staff.
  • Providing targeted status, identifies audit liability issues and offers solutions, and provides guidance for change control improvements to Managers, Design Authority Units, Operations, Engineering and Decommissioning Field Teams.
  • Total management, training, coaching, decision making and strategy-development for all elements of the 5 levels of Change Control as per 900-508130-MCP-001 (ECC, RREC, IEER, FCR, Exclusions, N286 standards and requirements of compliance program areas, design/engineering, construction, commissioning and configuration management.

  • Fully knowledgeable in N286 Standards, Engineering Change Control, Reduced Risk Engineering Change, Item Equivalent Evaluation, Field Change/Deviation process.

  • At minimum a post-secondary education in a relevant discipline plus five years of relevant experience in an operational, engineering or project environment.
  • Problem solving, coaching, strategic planning and project layout, interpersonal, computer programs applicable to reporting, planning, high level of accountability and decision making based on the individual project.
  • CNL specific excellent knowledge of Vault, ECC Application, Avantis, ATOM.
  • Initiative, motivation, and good people skills to work with peers as well as both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work effectively and interact with staff at various levels of the organization.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Nurturing and maintaining constructive and cooperative working relationships with a high number of internal and some external contacts.
  • A strong understanding of all procedures related to Engineering, execution (construction, decommissioning, and component replacement), commissioning, turnover, and configuration management.
  • Knowledge of CNL's Functional Support Areas and Compliance Programs.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction. Must be self-motivated to achieve desired objectives through deliberate planning and execution of work tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of Engineering processes to provide creative and innovative solutions to uncommon situations while paying strict attention to ensure high level requirements are not compromised.
  • Working with minimal supervision.
  • Able to maintain and foster relationships with representatives of customer groups (Branch Managers, Division Directors, General Managers, and extended to field staff) to be able to direct the provision of timely support and to implement priority changes.
  • Demonstrate tact, diplomacy, trust, and discretion in handling and safeguarding sensitive and confidential information.
  • Effective conflict management to promote positive impacts and resolutions through a good understanding of stakeholder perspective.

Security clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom.
